Phantasmagoria
A living, breathing sanctuary suspended in the liminal space between the waking and dreaming.
DEEP WITHIN THE WOODED HEART OF SECRET DREAMS
THE TOWN
If it can be Dreamed of, it exists here
Deep within the wooded heart of Secret Dreams lies the town of Phantasmagoria, a realm where imagination takes physical form and wayward dreams find a place to flourish in harmony.
Phantasmagoria mirrors the structure of a regular town, but it operates with a distinct rhythm of curiosity and wonder. The residents are as diverse as the thoughts that birthed them; you may find yourself sharing a path with a fuzzy traveler from a distant star, a giant jellyfish drifting through the trees, or an ancient stick creature weaving through the underbrush.
Quirky creations, curious oddballs, and wayward wonders, those too wild or whimsical for the structured dream cycles, find belonging here. Though unbound by ordinary laws, Phantasmagoria is not a chaotic realm, but one built on harmony and maintained through ancient systems and collective care.

WHO LIVES HERE
Two halves of one town
The atmosphere is a blend of whimsical wonder and curious creativity. The population is split into two primary social groups, and neither one works without the other.

CITY CENTER / LIGHT HOURS
The Day Dreams
The happy-go-lucky and silly residents. They occupy the City Center and are mostly active during light hours, but they can stay up if they try hard enough.
OUTER RIM / DARK HOURS
The Night Mares
The tough and firey residents. They populate the Outer Rim and are mostly active during dark hours. They are the realm's essential protectors, guarding the borders against monsters from other realms.
WHO KEEPS IT STANDING
The Agencies
The realm is kept stable thanks to a handful of agencies. Together, these groups manage everything from the eccentric downtown shops to the grandest art installations, ensuring every corner of Phantasmagoria hums with a balanced, creative energy.

The Office of the Mayor
An elected leadership that leads the community, overseeing the town's growth and hosting spectacles on the community stage to keep the spirit of the realm high.
The Dream Detectives
A vigilant protection force and investigative unit dedicated to the safety of the subconscious. They protect the realm from no-good-doers who wish to disrupt the balance.
A coalition of dreamers that was formed by one of the Original Dreams. Those of pure heart and soul can be trained in their ways and join the team.

The Mind Mechanics
A specialized coalition of engineers and fix-it experts responsible for the realm's structural integrity. They maintain the intricate gears of reality, stepping in whenever the luster of a Dream fades or the town's inner functions require recalibration.
* DREAM DETECTIVE FILE, RESTRICTED. A group of ordinary mechanics. Or are they? The Mind Mechanics are actually part of an ancient lineage of builders that stems from the Original Dream that built this realm. They play the act of an average joe but secretly know all the passageways and inner workings of Phantasmagoria.
The Dream Weaver
A mystical architect who works behind the scenes to thread hope and vibrancy throughout the town, ensuring that the creative flow between the waking and Dreaming worlds remains unbroken. Ancient, all powerful, and rarely seen in the open.

THE GREAT DREAMORPHOSIS
Every 10,000 Wakes, the entire world of Dreams settles into a brand-new form.
The realm is currently undergoing a Dreamorphosis (a regeneration of time and space). This happens every 10,000 wakes, however, the transition is in jeopardy because there seems to be insufficient dream energy to fully complete the regeneration. Because of this, the town’s Dream Staff is acting in strange ways, and it is as though the energy is being depleted. The Dream Staff is an item necessary for the Dream Weaver to complete the Dreamorphosis ceremony, leaving the realm’s new form unfinished.
The Dreamorposis has happened before, so why isn't it working now? Can you help us uncover the secrets of our past and figure out what's wrong with the Dream Staff? Stop by the Dream Detectives office today to start your journey!

HOW YOU TAKE PART
The Dream Staff needs power. You are the power.
The Dream Staff has to be recharged before the Dreamorphosis can begin, and the only thing that will do it is a Dream Crystal. Solve the realm's clues, earn one, and bring it to the Night 3 showcase.
01.
Start with the Dream Detectives
Find them in the town and speak with them. They will hand you a quest card. The path to the crystals will reveal itself once you unlock the history of Phantasmagoria.
02.
Read your card
The card is broken into three sections, one for the Dream Detectives, one for the Mind Mechanics, and one for the Dream Weaver. The Dream Detectives and Mind Mechanics sections have to be completed first, in either order.
03.
Travel to the icons
Each section shows three icons standing for different installations and areas of the festival. Maps posted around the event show where those icons live. Go there and unlock the history of the area.
04.
Solve the riddle, report back
Each location has its own riddle. Solving it unlocks a piece of Phantasmagoria history. Carry that information back to the agency whose section you are working on. If you have it right, they will mark your card.
05.
Spell the code word
Once both sections are full, the letters spell a code word. Take it to the Town Historian at the museum and say it out loud. What happens next is not written down anywhere, and you will be walking out with a Dream Crystal.
06.
Bring your crystal to Night 3
Bring it to the showcase. The audience helps recharges the staff and officially triggers the final Dreamorphosis celebration.
